Project Overview
InboundLabs has been a HubSpot partner for 7 years. During this period HubSpot has relied on us for the development of several sites, applications, and integrations including the CodeGallery.
Inspired by CodePen, we wanted to create a portal and library where savvy developers could showcase their work, and offer solutions and code for other partner developers to use via the HubSpot CMS.
Problem Statement
HubSpot is used by thousands of companies to power their websites. Developers that build using the HubSpot platform are always looking for ways to save time implementing specific features but have a hard time finding them. Hence, a code library.
Solution
A visual database of examples and code snippets was built. Developers could submit their work for other developers to search for, and implement. Submissions can be found by a general search, or by specifically looking by contributor, new entries, or popular solutions.
Code Gallery runs on the Enterprise Edition of the HubSpot CMS. While all submissions are stored in HubDB search is enabled by Algolia and the moderation is managed via Slack. The Slackbot also allows salespeople to search and find submissions without leaving Slack.
Results after launching
Since launching, the code gallery has been receiving submissions on a daily basis, while search volumes increased by X. The tool is currently used by 1000’s developers across a multitude of projects and has become a premier showcase for website features built on top of the HubSpot CMS.
